Establécese la celebración del "Día del Geógrafo" para el último viernes del mes de octubre, en conmemoración tanto del natalicio y muerte del sabio geógrafo Francisco José de Caldas, como de la promulgación de la Ley del Geógrafo, efemérides que concurren en ese mes. El día del Geógrafo se destinará a la realización de actos académicos en las instituciones de educación media y superior y en los centros de investigación y estudios avanzados relacionados con la geografía.
