El Ministerio de Comunicaciones editará estampillas o especies postales conmemorativas del 450 aniversario de la fundación de Santa Marta, en emisiones por un valor total de diez millones de pesos ($ 10.000.000.00) durante los años de 1973 a 1975 con los siguientes motivos:

Efigie de don Rodrigo de Bastidas; Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino; Bahía de la ciudad de Santa Marta; y Picos de la Sierra Nevada

El producido neto de la venta de las estampillas conmemorativas se entregará al Comité Organizador del Certamen Deportivo Internacional de Santa Marta.
