El artículo 4.2.0.5.1 del Estatuto Orgánico del Sistema Financiero quedará así: "El Fondo de Garantías de Instituciones Financieras podrá destinar los recursos que excedan los requerimientos que tenga para el desempeño de sus funciones, a inversiones en títulos emitidos por el Banco de la República o por Gobierno Nacional. Tales operaciones deberán realizarse con sujeción a los objetivos propios del Fondo y conforme los criterios de rentabilidad y eficiencia que señale la Junta Directiva de esa entidad".
