La consulta permite al superior decidir sin limitación sobre la providencia respectiva. La apelación le permite revisar únicamente los aspectos impugnados. Cuando se trate de sentencia condenatoria no se podrá en caso alguno agravar la pena impuesta, cuando el condenado sea apelante único.
