En los puertos extranjeros, previa autorización consular, el gobierno de la nave podrá confiarse a un capitán extranjero que posea la habilitación correspondiente a la del capitán que deba sustituir, hasta el puerto donde sea posible su reemplazo por un capitán colombiano.
