º La duración del Fondo de Garantías de Instituciones Financieras será indefinida. El Fondo solo permanecerá anexo al Banco de la República por un plazo no superior a cinco años, contados desde la publicación en el DIARIO OFICIAL del contrato para el funcionamiento del Fondo que celebren el Gobierno Nacional y el Banco de la República.
