En testimonio de ese reconocimiento, como símbolo de la gratitud nacional y para perpetuar la memoria de este acto del Congreso, con el cual se expresa el sentimiento más firme y profundo de los pueblo de Colombia, se erigirá un monumento que, previo acuerdo con la autoridad eclesiástica, será colocado en la Catedral de Bogotá.
