Origen. Créase la Medalla Militar “Servicios Distinguidos Bicentenario Batalla de Ayacucho”, en categoría única para premiar y estimular por una sola vez, al personal de oficiales y suboficiales del arma de Infantería; soldados profesionales y servidores públicos del Ejército Nacional orgánicos de los batallones de infantería, que se encuentren en servicio activo, a fecha 9 de diciembre de 2024; así como a las unidades militares del arma de infantería y el personal de la reserva activa que pertenezcan al arma de Infantería.
