Objeto. Organizar el Programa de Prevención y Protección de los derechos a la vida, la libertad, la integridad y la seguridad de personas, grupos y comunidades que se encuentran en situación de riesgo extraordinario o extremo como consecuencia directa del ejercicio de sus actividades o funciones políticas, públicas, sociales o humanitarias, o en razón del ejercicio de su cargo, en cabeza de la Unidad Nacional de Protección, la Policía Nacional y el Ministerio del Interior.
