Art 1.° Créase el Departamento de Galán, en el Sur de Santander, compuesto de las Provincias de Guanentá, Galán, Socorro, Charalá y Vélez, por los límites que hoy tienen.
Parágrafo
La capital de este Departamento será la ciudad de San Gil.
