Comprobación de circunstancias de la muerte para fines de compensación y demás prestaciones. Las circunstancias de modo, tiempo y lugar en que ocurra la muerte de un oficial o suboficial en servicio activo, para los fines determinados en los Artículos 158 a 161 del Decreto 612 de 1977, se comprobarán mediante la investigación administrativa adelantada por la unidad o repartición a la cual perteneciera orgánicamente el fallecido, investigación cuya finalidad y tramitación deben ser las mismas establecidas en el

Parágrafo

del Artículo 145 del presente Decreto.
