En homenaje a tan ilustre colombiano créase, bajo las dependencias de los Ministerios de Educación, y Agricultura, una Escuela Experimental Agrícola, anexa a la Granja Nacional San José de Nus, situada en el Municipio de San Roque, Departamento de Antioquia, y la cual llevará el nombre de "Escuela Experimental Agrícola Luis Guillermo Echeverri Abad".
