La disponibilidad es la situación en la que se encuentra el funcionario de la Carrera Diplomática y Consular que se margina, transitoriamente y por su propia voluntad, del desempeño de cargos remunerados en el servicio público. La disponibilidad será declarada mediante decreto y sólo procederá a solicitud del interesado.
