Art. 1.° El Poder Ejecutivo mandará practicar en el mas breve término posible, por injenieros hidráulicos competentes, una esploracion científica del brazo de Mompos, en el rio Magdalena, con el objeto de averiguar la posibilidad de mejorar permanentemente la condicion de dicho brazo, de manera de hacerlo navegable en todo tiempo por buques de vapor de cala de cinco piés por lo ménos ; i con el de formar el presupuesto de gastos para la obra.
