º Objeto. El Instituto Nacional de Cancerología, Empresa Social del Estado tiene por objeto prestar servicios de salud en el área oncológica, con carácter de servicio público a cargo del Estado. En desarrollo de este objeto ejecutará programas, proyectos y actividades de prevención, tratamiento y rehabilitación y realizará y promoverá la investigación científica en el área de su competencia. Igualmente auspiciará la formación de profesionales, docentes e investigadores en ese campo de la medicina.
