Habrá cinco Inspectores Generales de Telégrafos, nombrados por el Poder Ejecutivo, el cual les fijara el radio de su jurisdicción. Estos empleados velaran por el cumplimiento de las obligaciones de los Inspectores Seccionales, de los Telegrafistas y de los Guardas del Telégrafo; examinara el estado de las líneas telegráficas y de las oficinas de su jurisdicción, cuidando de que los aparatos telegráficos, baterías, etc. de las oficinas estén instalados debidamente; practicaran visita en las Oficinas Telegráficas y en la Oficina de la Inspección Seccional, y rendirán un informe mensual a la Administración General de Telégrafos.
