LEGISLACIÓN ANTERIOR

Artículo 8º.- Prohibición de retener documentos de identidad. El artículo 18 del decreto 2150 de 1995 quedará así:

"Artículo 18. Prohibición de retener documentos de identidad. Ninguna autoridad podrá retener la cédula de ciudadanía, la cédula de extranjería, el pasaporte, o la licencia de conducción de los administrados. Si se exige la identificación de una persona, ella cumplirá la obligación mediante la exhibición de los citados documentos. Queda prohibido retenerlos para ingresar a cualquier dependencia pública o privada."
