Definición del pasaporte con zona de lectura mecánica . Los pasaportes con zona de lectura mecánica, son aquellos documentos de alta seguridad que incluyen una hoja de datos que debe contener como mínimo la siguiente información: nombre, nacionalidad, lugar y fecha de nacimiento, sexo, número y clase de identificación, lugar y fecha de expedición, fecha de vencimiento y número del pasaporte. En la parte inferior de la hoja de datos llevan la zona de lectura mecánica que contiene un resumen de datos obligatorio en formato capaz de leerse mecánicamente.
