Los monedas de níquel tendrán su poder liberatorio de $ 2 en cada transacción- Se emitirán en loa tipos de $ 1, $ 2 y $ 5 en papel moneda, equivalente cada peso en papel á un centavo de peso fuerte en oro, y tendrán las mismas condiciones físicas establecidas para la acuñación de monedas de níquel en el Decreto ejecutivo 1263 de 1906, publicado en el Diario Oficial número 12,775.
