El poseedor de un arma con salvoconducto está en la obligación de dar aviso y devolver el salvoconducto a la autoridad que lo expidió, cuando el arma se haya perdido o extraviado. La omisión de estos requisitos hará considerar que el arma ha sido enajenada irregularmente.
