La policía velará por la conservación y utilización de las agua de uso público. En consecuencia, el jefe de policía deberá evitar el aprovechamiento de dichas aguas, cuando no se haya obtenido el correspondiente permiso y velará por el cumplimiento de las condiciones impuestas en él y en las mercedes de las aguas.
