Artículo único. Los Gobernadores Jefes civiles y militares de los extinguidos Estados, el Gobernador del Distrito Federal y del Departamento nacional de Panamá y Presidente del Estado del Cauca, desempeñarán las funciones de Gobernadores de los Departamentos respectivos, hasta que se posesionen los que sean nombrados para el período legal, de conformidad con lo dispuesto en el artículo 124 de la Constitución, Comuníquese y publíquese.
