Son funciones del Grupo ele Selección de Material Bibliográfico y Audiovisual

a)

Llevar un registro permanente de la producción colombiana de libros, revistas, periódicos, mapas, grabaciones, películas educativas, etc.

b)

Coleccionar obras de referencia y bibliografía, nacionales y extranjeras.

c)

Extractar del registro y de la bibliografía, la producción literaria y el material audiovisual que se considere conveniente adquirir.

d)

Presentar al Jefe de la Sección listas de adquisición y de suscripción.

e)

Preparar bibliografías especiales con destino a las Salas de Lectura Especializada.

f)

Preparar obras sobre bibliografía colombiana.

g)

Mantener relaciones con el Consejo Internacional Consultivo de Bibliografía de la UNESCO, y con otros centros bibliográficos del país y del Exterior.
