Separación es el acto por medio del cual el gobierno o el comando e la respectiva fuerza., coloca fuera de la institución al oficial o suboficial de las Fuerzas Militares, en forma temporal o absoluta, según el caso, en acatamiento de sentencia condenatoria definitiva de la Justicia Penal Militar o de la ordinaria o de un Tribunal Disciplinario o de un Tribunal de Honor.
