Elección. El Fiscal General de la Nación es elegido por la Corte Suprema de Justicia, de terna enviada por el Presidente de la República ante quien toma posesión de su cargo y no podrá ser reelegido, ni elegido en ningún cargo de elección popular o como miembro de corporaciones públicas dentro de los doce meses siguientes al día de la cesación de sus funciones.
