Una vez conocido el hecho o recibida la información, según el caso, la autoridad sanitaria competente procederá a comprobarlo y a establecer la necesidad de aplicar una medida de seguridad, con base en los peligros que pueda representar para la salud humana, o la sanidad vegetal o animal.
