En desarrollo del artículo 39 del decreto 2338 de 1971, para ascender al grado de cabo primero y Sargento Viceprimero, se requiere adelantar y aprobar un curso de especialización, previo concurso, con una duración mínima de ocho (8. semanas. La Dirección General de la Policía Nacional reglamentará el concurso y el plan de estudios correspondiente.
