Separación temporal. El tiempo que el Oficial o Suboficial de la Policía Nacional permanezca separado en forma temporal, no podrá considerarse como de servicio activo para ninguno de los efectos de este estatuto. Durante dicho tiempo, los Oficiales y Suboficiales separados no tendrán derecho a sueldos, primas ni prestaciones sociales pagaderas por el Ramo de Defensa.
