Las prestaciones por fallecimiento del Oficial o Suboficial en servicio activo o en goce de sueldo de retiro, serán reconocidas mediante procedimiento de oficio. En tal virtud, el Ministerio de Guerra, por conducto del Departamento respectivo, allegará toda la comprobación requerida para obtener y radicar en la Contaduría pagadora correspondiente, a partir del cuarto mes de muerto el Oficial o Suboficial, la pensión, compensación, etc., a que haya lugar.
