Las Comisiones Segundas del Senado de la República y de la Cámara de Representantes, llevarán el registro de las medallas que otorguen y deberán custodiar y publicitar el archivo en el sitio web de cada Corporación con una fotografía de los homenajeados.

Las Comisiones Segundas del Senado de la República y de la Cámara de Representantes organizarán a través de las respectivas oficinas de protocolo de cada Corporación, el ceremonial de entrega, la publicidad y grabación de los respectivos actos protocolarios.

A la ceremonia de entrega se invitará a la familia del Almirante Leonardo Santamaría Gaitán.
