Los archivos privados de carácter histórico declarados de interés público, podrán ser adquiridos por la Nación cuando el propietario los ofreciere en venta.

Declárase de interés público o de interés social, para efectos de la expropiación por vía administrativa a la que se refiere la Constitución Política, la adquisición de archivos privados de carácter histórico-cultural que se encuentren en peligro de destrucción, desaparición, deterioro o pérdida.
