El organismo de tránsito donde se encuentre registrado el vehículo, una vez recibido el original de la certificación y orden de cancelación del registro del automotor expedido por la DIAN o la Fiscalía General de la Nación, procederá a la destrucción de las placas respectivas, efectuando las anotaciones de rigor en el Registro Nacional Automotor.
