Origen. Créase la “Medalla a la Ciencia y la Tecnología” por Servicios Distinguidos a la Institución Militar, para estimular, enaltecer y premiar a los miembros de las Fuerzas Militares, Servidores Públicos del Sector Defensa Particulares Prominentes o Instituciones que sobresalgan apoyando el desarrollo de la Gestión o Investigación Científica y Tecnológica en la Fuerza Aérea o a los funcionarios, personalidades o entidades, que con su gestión hayan contribuido a la evolución y mejoramiento de la misma.
