Es deber del optómetra colaborar en la preparación de futuras generaciones en instituciones docentes aprobadas por el Estado, estimulando el amor a la ciencia y a su profesión, difundiendo sin restricciones el resultado de sus experiencias y apoyando a los que se inicien en su carrera. En caso de ser llamado a dirigir o crear instituciones para la enseñanza de la optometría o a regentar cátedra en las mismas, se someterá a las normas legales o reglamentarias sobre la materia, así como a los dictados de la ciencia, a los principios pedagógicos y a la ética profesional.
