°. Objetivo. El Instituto Nacional de Metrología (INM), tiene por objetivo la coordinación de la metrología científica e industrial como máxima autoridad nacional en la materia, y la ejecución de actividades que fomente la innovación, mejoren la calidad de vida y soporten el desarrollo económico, científico y tecnológico del país, mediante el establecimiento, conservación y adopción de patrones nacionales de medida, la difusión del Sistema Internacional de Unidades (SI), la investigación científica, la prestación de servicios metrológicos, el apoyo a las actividades de control metrológico y la representación internacional como máxima autoridad en metrología científica e industrial.
