ART 211. El Gerente ó Administrador de Bancos Particulares ó Compañías anónimas, que no cambie, á su presentación, por moneda legal, los billetes que pusiere en circulación, pagará una multa igual al doble del valor de los billetes no cambiados. Exceptúase el caso en que, agotada en la conversión toda la reserva monetaria que están obligados á mantener, no puedan pagar los billetes que se presente luego.

En este caso se les concederá un término igual al mayor plazo legal de las obligaciones que tengan en cartera.
