Ley 89 de 1890 · Por la cual se determina la manera como deben ser gobernados los salvajes que vayan reduciéndose a la vida civilizada

Art. 37°. Se señala el término de cincuenta años, prorrogados por los Gobernadores de los Departamentos respectivos :

1.° Para formar el padrón de cada comunidad, según los reglamentos que dicten los Gobernadores respectivos de Departamento, á fin de que tales padrones se hagan con claridad, exactitud y justicia;

2.° Para que los Prefectos informen sobre tales padrones al Gobernador del Departamento ;

3.°Para que éste examine y apruebe tales padrones;

4.° Para que se dividan ó repartan, por cabezas, entre los indígenas o comuneros, los terrenos de Resguardos en los términos establecidos por esta Ley ; y

5.° Para que dicha división sea definitivamente aprobada por quien corresponde.
