Articulación con los Sistemas Ambientales Internacionales. El Invemar dará apoyo a este Ministerio del Medio Ambiente para lograr el desarrollo de la política ambiental internacional. Especialmente, deberá realizar estudios e investigaciones científicas para conocer la naturaleza y sus procesos con el fin de establecer criterios y proponer modelos que permitan estudiar el cambio global y conocer las alteraciones particulares del medio ambiente en el territorio colombiano, de acuerdo con su objeto.
