En el exterior, cuando el interesado solicite pasaporte y no presente documento de identificación, se aceptará, previo el trámite del duplicado de la cédula de ciudadanía, el número del documento comunicado por la Registraduría Nacional del Estado Civil a la oficina consular. En el caso de los menores se aceptará la copia del registro' civil de nacimiento enviada directamente por la oficina donde se efectuó la inscripción. De lo anterior se dejará constancia, en la respectiva reseña o solicitud de pasaporte.
