CONVERSION DE MULTA EN ARRESTO. Cuando la multa hubiere sido impuesta como pena principal y única, y el condenado no la pagare o amortizare de acuerdo con lo previsto en los artículos anteriores, se convertirá en arresto equivalente al salario mínimo legal por día. En este caso, el arresto no podrá exceder de cinco (5) años. El condenado a quien se le haya hecho la conversión de que trata el inciso anterior, podrá hacer cesar el arresto en cualquier momento en que satisfaga la parte proporcional de multa que no haya cumplido en arresto.
