ARTICULO 19. Objetivos del Fondo Especial para Investigaciones - El Fondo Especial para Investigaciones cumplirá los siguientes objetivos

Coadyuvar a la financiación de planes, programas y proyectos de investigación y desarrollo científico y tecnológico en el campo de la salud y la biomedicina de conformidad con las políticas, planes y lineamientos sectoriales;

Canalizar aportes y donaciones públicas y privadas, nacionales e internacionales, para la ejecución de planes, programas y proyectos de investigación y desarrollo científico y tecnológico en el campo de la salud.
