Los dispositivos de enganche deben ofrecer la mayor seguridad, de acuerdo con los adelantos de la técnica, y los enganches deben funcionar automáticamente al acoplar el vehículo que se va a remolcar. Los vehículos de más de cuatro toneladas de peso, deben estar dotados, además, de dispositivo que permita su remolque.
