La presente ley tiene por objeto reconocer las contribuciones del sector interreligioso, de manera equitativa con otros sectores sociales y comunitarios, en la promoción de valores humanos, la cohesión social y la resolución pacífica de conflictos, sin comprometer la neutralidad del Estado en materia religiosa, y respetando los principios de libertad religiosa, laicidad y pluralismo.
