Artículo quinto. Declarase vigente para Colombia desde el 31 de enero de 1981 el "Convenio Internacional para la Seguridad de la Vida en el Mar", firmado en Londres el 10 de noviembre de 1974 y el "Protocolo de 1978 Relativo al Convenio International para la Seguridad de la Vida Humana en el Mar", suscrito el 18 de febrero de 1978 y aprobados mediante la Ley 8ª de fecha febrero 4 de 1980.
