Retiro de la carrera. El retiro de la carrera y la pérdida de los derechos inherentes a ella, se produce por cualquiera de las causales de retiro del servicio y por tomar posesión el funcionario inscrito en un cargo de libre nombramiento y remoción, salvo que entre a desempeñar ese cargo por comisión.
