Las elecciones de Presidente de la República y miembros del Congreso se efectuarán en días distintos, en las fechas que determine la ley.

Parágrafo transitorio

Si no se hubiere expedido la ley de que trata el inciso anterior, las elecciones para miembros del Congreso, Asambleas Departamentales, Concejos Municipales, Consejos Intendenciales y Comisariales y las de Presidente de la República y Delegatarios que deberán efectuarse en el año 1978, tendrán lugar el último domingo de febrero y el primer domingo de junio respectivamente.
