La Procuraduría General de la Nación, a través de la División de Registro y Control, expedirá el certificado de antecedentes disciplinarios, en un plazo máximo de veinte días hábiles, a partir de la fecha de recibo de la solicitud. El certificado deberá referirse a los últimos cinco años. En caso de que el funcionario o empleado judicial haya sido sancionado disciplinariamente, deberá anexar al certificado copia autenticada de la respectiva providencia. Si hubiere una investigación en curso, esta circunstancia y los hechos que la han originado se harán constar en el certificado. Si el certificado fuere expedido dentro del término fijado en este artículo, el peticionario deberá presentar constancia de que lo solicitó en tiempo.
