Objeto . El Hospital Universitario San Juan de Dios y Materno Infantil tiene por objeto prestar servicios de salud de mediana y alta complejidad y atención integral en salud de la población en general, así como participar y fungir como organismo asesor y articulador en el ámbito nacional en materia de investigación, desarrollo e innovación y formación de talento humano en salud. Adicionalmente tiene por objeto la recuperación y preservación de los valores de su patrimonio histórico y cultural integrado, inherente al BIC Hospital San Juan de Dios y el Instituto Materno Infantil.

Decreto 1959 de 2023 · por medio del cual se adoptan medidas para la adquisición y recuperación de la infraestructura del hospital San Juan de Dios y el Instituto Materno Infantil y se crea una entidad de carácter especial “Hospital Universitario San Juan de Dios y Materno Infantil”.
