El artículo 89 del Código de Procedimiento Penal, quedará así:

Artículo 89. COMPETENCIA POR RAZON DE LA CONEXIDAD Y EL FACTOR SUBJETIVO. Cuando deban fallarse hechos punibles conexos, sometidos a diversas competencias, conocerá de ellos el funcionario de mayor jerarquía.

Cuando se trate de conexidad entre hechos punibles de competencia del Juez regional y de cualquier otro funcionario judicial, corresponderá el juzgamiento al Juez regional.
