Ascenso a Brigadier General o Contralmirante. Para ascender al grado de Brigadier General o Contralmirante, el Gobierno escogerá libremente entre los Coroneles o Capitanes de Navío que hayan cumplido las condiciones generales y especiales que este Estatuto determina, que posean el Titulo de Oficial de Estado Mayor y, además, que hayan adelantado y aprobado el "Curso de Altos Estudios Militares" en la Escuela Superior de Guerra de Colombia, de acuerdo con Reglamentación que expida el Gobierno Nacional.
